Quick Update

LOVING the job.  I work with some great people, and the 10 hour days go by so quickly!

Also, CAMERON IS CRAWLING.  It's official.  She's mobile.  We have TWO MOBILE CHILDREN.

I got a job...

I will be going back to work next Thursday, July 14th.  Bob Evan's family restaurant has hired me as an assistant manager.  Of course I'm excited, but I will be working long hours!  They really seem like a great company to work for (benefits, bonuses etc), and our kids will be in good hands for the couple of hours a day when Matt or I aren't home  (we'll be working opposite shifts)!

Just Cleaned Up Some Dog Poo...

...thought everyone should know.  It was a riveting experience.  I just had so much fun with it--I love the smell (comparable to a human turd covered in burnt hair), and the feel of the warm, yogurt-like texture through the napkin.  Also, I'm so lucky that this is the second day in a row I've had the pleasure of cleaning up Dexter's fecal matter!  His stench continues to linger and polute the rest of the house, which excites me as well.

Had a good 4 day weekend in North Carolina...

My brother Aaron is leaving for Navy Basic Training on June 14th, so Matt, the kids and I went down to spend some time with him before he leaves.  It was nice to catch up with family, and wish Aaron all the best.  The kids did pretty well on the five and a half hour drive there... but Cameron was a little fussy on the way back.  We had to pull over, take her out of her car seat, and roam around a grocery store outside of Fredericksburg, VA for a bit.  Fortunately, they had Pub Cheese at said grocery store and it made a nice on-the-road snack, along with some wheat thins...

Tateum, Cameron and I went with some friends strawberry picking today!  Tateum was really good at finding the pretty red ones.  She also found a couple weird-looking ones, pictured below.  She had fun ;-)

Cameron is Growing Too Fast...

Yesterday was Cameron's 4-month check-up (better late than never)!  She's progressing really well and is now 15 pounds, 10 ounces!  She still enjoys her food ;-)  Unfortunately, Cam received 2 shots yesterday too... she cried for a little bit and had a low grade fever earlier today, but all in all, she's well.  Tylenol works wonders!

1.)  Matthew bought an 08' Kawasaki something or other for his work commute, today.  He got it for $400 less than what Kelly Blue Book listed it as...

Sold the Jeep today...

Matt finally sold his beloved Jeep Grand Cherokee Classic.  It will be missed. . .  It was an awesome vehicle, but his commute and the rising gas prices made it a hassle to our budget.

 If you have any encouraging words for him, now is the time!

Well, since every force under the sun is against us , we will be unable to go to Maine for my great grandmother's 100th birthday.  A combination of low funds and car trouble really did us in.  We would've left on Friday and came back Tuesday. I'm extremely bummed about this.  She has never met our kids, and how awesome would it be for them to get their picture taken with their great great grandmother?!

Great Grandma Lillian is in good health... So maybe some day...

We Need to Get Rid of the Envoy

Seriously.  16mpg is a little on the ridiculous side.  Also, the warranty runs out next month and it randomly beeps at us.  I'm not appreciating the occasional illuminated service lights either (especially when we know damn well there's nothing wrong with the car other than a faulty sensor and/or computer).

So, we went to a dealership today.  We were not happy with what Matt test drove or what they offered us for the Envoy.  I will continue to search AutoTrader.com...

By the way, Lincoln MKZ's are pretty cool looking.  Affordable, luxury, great on gas, all-wheel drive.  The 2009-2012 Ford Fusions are ok...  But would a car suffice?  Or should we still buy another SUV (one with slightly better gas mileage)?  We shall see.  All I know is, it'll be American ;)
